Tell us a bit about your business. Why and when did you start?
Craft and sewing has always been a passion of mine. Ruby, my daughter, has a fascination with hot air balloons and thinks they are just magical! So, when we bought our first home and began decorating her nursery, I decided to play around with materials and started making her very own hot air balloon mobiles. That was October last year, RubyLove the company was born shortly after, and now here we are!
How many children do you have and what are their ages?
Just the one! Ruby. She is 2, nearly 2 and a half (and don’t I know it!)
Where do you work from?
I take over the dining room table on a daily basis!
What is your vision/dream for your business?
I am a stay at home mummy, so it would be a dream for RubyLove to continue to grow and allow me to remain so! It has always been an aspiration of mine to become self employed and it would be so rewarding and validating to support my family, by making and selling the things my daughter and I love!
What does a typical working day look like for you?
Well at the moment I spend my days raising my little girl, surrounded by toys and crayons! So when I work, its during naptimes and once she is in bed in the evenings.
Do you ever get the chance to take time off for yourself? If so, what do you like to do?
Most of my free time is spent crafting and making balloons, which I do love doing and find relaxing. Otherwise, when not mummy-ing or crafting I LOVE interiors and spend a lot of time renovating our house with my partner Joe. Girly-time is also key to keeping any mother sane, so regular coffee dates and catch ups are a must!
